Did you know the Ethiopian eunuch's testimony in Acts 8:37 is omitted from the Greek base text of most major modern translations of the Holy Bible? (NIV, NLT, NASB, ESV, etc).

36 And as they went on their way, they came to some water. And the eunuch said, “See, here is water. What must I do to be baptized?”
37 And Philip said to him, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” Then he answered, and said, “I believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

This Greek base text is commonly known as the "Critical Text" and contains hundreds more omissions and variations from the text of the #Reformation.

In addition to excluding whole passages such as Mark 16:9-20, John 7:53-8:11, and the “Johannine Comma” of 1John 5:7, it also omits Matthew 17:21, Mark 7:16, Matthew 18:11, John 6:47, Matthew 23:14, Mark 11:26, John 5:4, Mark 9:44, Acts 9:5b-6a, Acts 15:24b, Mark 9:46, Acts 18:21, Acts 23:9 and the words "through His blood" in Colossians 1:14.

There are very few exceptions to the modern use of this text, but among them is the Revised Geneva Translation, (audiobook performed by 7-time #1 Amazon Best-Selling Narrator, Steve Cook), a faithful, 21st Century update of the very first widely-distributed Bible in English, the Geneva Bible of the 1500's.

The RGT is one of only a handful of modern translations to be based on the same ancient Greek texts the #Reformers used. And as with all Scripture translated prior to the American Civil War, The Geneva Bible was specifically designed to be SPOKEN and HEARD (because a large percentage of antebellum believers were illiterate).

So, in other words, the RGT is the text of Luther, Tyndale and Calvin, faithfully revised and updated to be heard and spoken by this generation. (Matthew 7:24, Luke 8:21)
